hey guys, well I definetly want to pick up a new game console and the platforms i cant decide on choosing is between PlayStation 3 or xbox360.. I checked out all the specs and game selections and still can make a decision as all specs are to my liking and the games each platform carries are mostly the same i.e. NFS Pro Street and forza2, etc.,etc. So which one do you guys have??

i love Forza2 and Skate...but i played Skate on PS3 and its way easier and a lot more fun i think.

GT5's demo is also a lot of fun, and still makes Forza2 feel like an Arcade game.

those are the only games i play, i hate HALO, not fun to me...at all

 

ya, I think the only games ill play on the xbox360 platform is forza 2 but I know they have it for PS3 too. My HALO days are done after the first HALO.Get dizzy too fast now!!

 

they have Forza2 for ps3?!?! if so then its a no question im getting a PS3...metal gear solid! too

i have the 360. i like the halo series and think that forza is a lot better that gt because i think forza is more realistic. but when i got the 360 there were more games for it than the ps3. but the ps3 is coming out with some more. the thing i didn't like about the ps3 was the load time for the games. it seemed like it took forever to load.

 

halo 3 is the **** so my recommendation is the 360.

 

I gotta try it out then, after halo I didnt bother trying halo2.

Yup. PS1 games too IIRC.

Xbox games are backwards compatable with the 360 as long as the game didn't come out for the 360 as well. There's a list, I think it's a few hundred games.

I would recommend the Xbox 360 only because it has a huge library of games so far. The PS3 is pretty nice, but you'll be waiting a little while longer to get a decent amount of good games. I want to play the new Ratchet and Clank I tore that game up on the PS2.

on Forza2's website, it doesnt say anything about PS3, just 360...im still looking, but i couldnt find anything that said it is on both.

If Microsoft did that, then that was a BADDDDDDDDD move, cuz i will 100% buy a ps3 if thats the case

 

You'd have to get the 60 or 80GB versions for it to be backward compatible.
The 40GB has no backward compatibility, 2 less USB ports and no memory card reader

Forza 2 IS NOT available on the PS3 and never will be. The Forza series is released by Microsoft Game Studios, like Halo, and is exclusive to the 360.

 

well, i went with an xbox 360 because it was a little cheaper and i used to play halo a lot. Dirt (colin mcrae rally game released this year), Forza 2, and NFS Pro Street are all on the 360 if you're into racing games. Not to mention PGR3 and soon if not already PGR4 is on the 360. PS3 is a computer, basically. If you like motorstorm or F1 racing then go for it, but my friend has one and I would be afraid to take it anywhere since its so expensive (i game at my friend's house a lot). so its really just up to you bro, the Xbox 360 would be my choice if you're willing to spend $350. If not, the Wii is a TON of fun and has a few interactive racing games (just something to look into... i know a few ppl with them and they are nothing but happy). good luck makin your decision. remember, most retail stores won't take the open games back but will return the system if you dont end up liking it so be careful if you decide to "test drive" the systems (i worked at target for a year, included in that year was returns).

 

Do you even have an HDTV? If not, I would rule PS3 out right now.

It also depends on what you like to play, if you are big on FPS, then you will have more choices on 360. If you like sports games, since most are multi-platform now, the PS3 will deliver what you are looking for. There are exclusive titles on each platform, so keep that in mind.

I have a 360 and play it often. My friend has both, but only uses the PS3 for Blu-Ray movies.
