Can you go through an automatic carwash with an STi wing?
I remember that some guy went through an automatic carwash with his 22B several years back, and the hood/roof/trunk cleaning mechanism ripped his wing right off.
I've heard people say that it's okay, but I think they were talking out of their asses cuz they didnt even have wings on their cars.
Is it okay to do a non-touch free carwash with the wing on? Has anyone done it?

not anymore for me...
while you have like 11 screws holding the bottom part of the wing to the truck lid, you have like 3 screws on each side holding the upper part to the lower part...
plus every car wash gives you that "we re not responsible..." thingee.

I think the paint job is more in danger than the wing, but it is still not a good idea to have a piece of wet towel hitting the wing over and over again.
why would anyone go through a car wash if they have a nice car... all it takes is some little rocks or nasty something in those spinning brushes to f your stuff up... plus it just gives you permanent bug/dirty stuff on your car that it couldn't get off in the first place... so in my book, they would deserve to have the wing pulled off

In an emergancy, I have used a touchless washer with no damage.
Except what goo they use got on the rotors & pads, and really ****ed with braking for a while.

some new chevrons dont used the spinng brushes anymore. the one by my college has this thing that just sprays water and soap all over your car and it actually works really good.

I've used one a couple times with the STi wing on, didn't hurt it, but I try to stay away from them to keep the swirly marks away, specially on black...
