Can anyone save the life of this cat?
Hey all,
as my 911 thread stated, my wife and her cousin drove all the way to LA last night to pick him up so he wouldn't be sent to the pound. He's a regular black cat male with a good personality (almost like a dog) that needs a home ASAP. Even if you can just foster him until he can get adopted by someone, that would be great. This poor guy has had the worst luck in the world... We'd take him but we already have two cats and a dog that doesn't get along with the said cat.
He's about 3 years old now (almost) and has a really good disposition. His name is Shadow (original right? lol)
We all love this cat dearly and really want him to find a home. If you have the room and the heart to take him in, we'll help you out in any way we can.
Thanks everyone,
D-

Bump!
Please guys and girls, PLEASE consider this guy as your new companion, and even if you can't keep him forever, it would be great if someone could foster him until we find him a home (my family and I are actively seeking homes for him).
I really wish we could keep him but we can't... We're at our limit with pets and my dog and the cat hate each other (which is weird since the cat usually gets along with dogs and is uber friendly with other cats, and loves all humans.
If we can't find him a home we're going to have to take him to the pound, where he will most def get the death penalty, all because he doesn't have a place to call home... He's such a sweet heart and so smart, it would crush me to have to take him to the pound.
Please guys and girls, PLEASE find it in your heart to save a life during this cold december.
He's SUPER low maintainence and doesn't need anything but food and litter. He will come to you and pay you a great deal of attention because he's very dog-like. I love this guy and I soooo wish that there was a way to keep him.
please help!

Bump, guys please help us out! This cat needs a home as soon as possible, please help make a difference and save this guys life... He's such a great cat and I really wish we could keep him, but we're at our limit and my dog wants to eat him, otherwise we'd keep him.
He needs a home ASAP and you guys are his last hope. Christmas is coming up and while everyone goes about their cozy lives, Shadow (the cat) is left abandoned and alone... All he wants is for someone to love him enough to give him a home. He's one of the most low maintenance cats I've ever met... All he requires is a little bit of food, a litter box, and a blanket. He's super chill and doesn't destroy or overturn anything... He doesn't meow all the time or do anything annoying. He's healthy and very friendly... He will greet you every time you come home with a single meow and will rub his body on your leg, then after he's said hello to you he goes back to laying down and chilling.
He doesn't deserve this, he's such a great cat and all because of one woman who didn't want him walking in her yard, he's now homeless and is possibly going to be put to death (if we don't find him a home).
(The story: My wife's family originally rescued him when he was young, they took him in and he was an outdoor-indoor cat (he'd go outside during the day and stay inside during the night). They had him for a couple of years and everything was great, that is until some new lady moved into the neighborhood. Shadow would stay close to his home and would sometimes walk through this lady's yard (he wouldn't do anything bad, just walk through), so she called animal control, they came and trapped him and took him to the pound. Since he had a microchip, they scanned him and called my wife's parents to pick him up, which was totally uncool for the cat, and on top of that they had to pay a fee. They didn't know who called it in and thought it was a fluke.
A few days later they get a call from the pound AGAIN, the lady trapped the cat AGAIN (he's all friendly and goes up to anyone so he was easy to trap) and tells the pound that she hates cats and doesn't want him anywhere near her house. My wife's parents go to pick him up again, this time being very upset that this happened, and were VERY angry when they found out why he was trapped. The pound told them that if he was trapped again that they would file criminal charges against them (something about cats not being allowed to be outdoors in cupertino, and it's the law after the cat is trapped x-amount of times that they file charges and it becomes a misdemeanor... We were all very surprised and angry that some new neighbor would go to these lengths to have a cat taken away because he was in her yard
(he doesn't even go to the bathroom anywhere other then his litter area).
After that happened, my wife's cousin took him as an indoor cat and had him for a while... That is until the landlord threatened to kick him out for having an animal.
Now he's in limbo and needs a home ASAP otherwise we'll be forced to take him to the pound... He really needs a home and doesn't deserve to be treated this way. He's super lax and doesn't cause any problems at all... Most of the time you wont even know he's there. He just needs a home and I know someone can help him out.
In return he'll provide you with unconditional love and will always be there for you. When the world is against you and everything goes wrong, you can be assured that when you come home you'll have a little purr machine that likes to nuzzle his face against you... I was never a cat person until I met him, now I have two cats of my own!
He's a black cat (as are all of my family's cats), so his chances of getting adopted at the pound are even lower. If you didn't know, black cats have the lowest adoption rate, not by just a little, but a lot. People are superstitious and think black cats are bad luck so they don't adopt them. How lame is that? For that reason alone, we only adopt black cats.
Please open up your hearts and give him a chance at life... He deserves it just as much as anyone else... My family and I would be ever grateful.

If your cat hasn't been around cats before, it will take a couple weeks for him/her to get used to another cat being there (happened with our cats) but after that they will be best friends.
(My cats hated each other for the first two weeks, but now are inseparable. They sleep next to each other, eat next to each other, and play together like crazy. We had one cat and thought she was lonely because she was all alone and is why we got a second, best decision we made!)

I will check with my wife... We been looking for a cat our last one got hit by a car last month (outside cat). My 5yr old daughter saw the whole thing =/ so our next cat would be strictly indoor. ( My daughter has been taking it very hard and sometimes when I come home from work she's outside on the driveway staring where her cat was hit)

I'm so sorry for your loss... Losing a pet is REALLY hard... I'll never forget when we had to put my old dog down due to a stroke he had (right in front of me) where he lost the use of half his body and basically became a vegetable. He started convulsing right in front of me and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. A couple hours later he was put down
By far the worst feeling ever, took me weeks to recover from that and I still get really upset when thinking about it. He was a cocker spanial (black and white), but he lived a full life... He was about 16 when it happened, but even still, that was soo hard for me, I can't imagine what your poor daughter is going through!
Shadow would be perfect for you guys! He's suck a loving cat, and he's really mellow. He loves humans and would be fine indoors. You'd be saving a life.
