Looking to take my pops there just for the hell of it... He's never been before and I think he deserves a nice night out with his incredibly handsome son jk

Besides Nijo Castle in Newark. Is benihana (sp?) any better than Nijo Castle?

Pepper Lunch FTW! Teppan Style, but they have so much other stuff too...but way casual

if youre looking for something like bennihanas then these two are better than that

Kyoto Palace

or

House of Genji (better than Kyoto IMO)

What is the pepper lunch place? Is it similar to bennihana in terms of food and style? Or is it more of a mongolian bbq place like "Fire and Ice"?

Went to "Fire and Ice" in Livermore a month or so ago... It's a really high end mongolian bbq place (Well, High end FOR Mongolian BBQ). They have a salad bar where you pick out all your veggies, a meat bar where you pick your meats, a seafood bar where you pick out all your seafood (lots of variety at each bar) and a sauce bar where you make your own sauces. This would be a GREAT place to have an iclub meeting (with us COOL people ) as it is a very social place... Dinner is like $20 all you can eat, and lunch is like $10 or $12, can't remember. But yeah... We should arrange a meet with all you guys (AVE, Aaron, Blacktraxgirl, etc, etc... I think it would be fun. The one rule is, NO significant others! Meets are never the same when people bring their SO cuz they dont know what the hell we're talking about. You know damn well what Im talking about too...

Bruce....pepper lunch is in milpitas on the asian side of MACARTHY RANCH (haha had to say that it drives certain people crazy ) its next to Mayflower Restaurant on the 99 side. Its all cooked for you ahead of time...nothing done at the table except the hot plates which you kinda stir...average pricing of normal silicon valley lunch/dinner......this one is the only one in the USA...the rest are in Japan (yummm loved eating there so different than here)

House of Genji is the bennihana style where they cook all of your food at the table.

Sues mongolian BBQ on El Camino across from Santa Clara Univ. is the same thing as the Fire and Ice place you talked about.

Im so down for an i-club yummy eating adventure with no SOs....ahaha lemme know when.

mmm...+1 for Sue's. Looks ghetto from the outside, but pure deliciousness (is that even a word) on the inside.
