can anyone help me with my mac?
If your screen is not broken, I would not suggest changing it. It would cost more. Nevertheless, compare the cost between the cable and screen+cable on eBay.
Also, if it is out of warranty, you do not need to take it to Apple store to replace it. The labor are expensive. Shop around local shops and get a quote on changing the cable. It can save you some money. Be sure to check the reviews for local shops before bringing in your laptop.
My screen did that too, but the line would be pink. I had to temporarily fix it the same way. Apple ended up replacing my screen though and it has never came back since.

i took it to a mac repair shop and they said it was the screen. seems like more of them are pointing to the screen then the cable. as much as i hope it's the cable; i was thinking about the design of the cable and how it connects to the board and screen... it doesn't make much sense for that thing to be loose or faulty.... i just ordered a screen. its the same price as the cable (O_o i know...) we'll see what happens...
