california lemon law??
anyone here familiar with the california lemon law?? i could really use some help, i've been experiencing suspension problems with my 05 sti. subaru has had to replace my rear strut 3 times going on its fourth, a couple of my friends said that i might be able to claim lemon law on my car.. i 'm not familiar with this law so i'm trying to find out as much as i can, if any of you guys can help me that would be greatly appreciated

I've seen these cars at auction. When they re-sell your car they make the purchasing dealer sign an affidavit attesting to the LLB.
As long as it's documented that your car has been in an unreasonable amount of times for the same repair you *should* be ok.

The BASIC rule of thumb is 3 times for the SAME problem in the first 12 months or 12,000 miles.
If you're outside of the 12/12,000 window, you're prett well screwed as far as claiming lemon law.
Also, documentation is your friend. And unless the dealership has really really screwed up, be polite and courteous with them. They can either be helpful, or make things more difficult for you. A lot of that depends on your relationship with them.
Also, only get a lawyer as a LAST RESORT. If you lawyer up, the dealer/manuf. will too. Hardball begins.
I got a 98 Dakota replaced by Dodge. It wasn't even technically a lemon since it wasn't the same problem. The dealer kept fixing problems only to have something else pop up. One time the power steering pump blew up while the tech was out test driving it after working on a noisy differential. That was funny.
Anyway... they eventually replaced it, no lawyers, and I still have a good relationship with that dealer. I've bought two more trucks from them since then.
