CA Licensing info

This is to anyone that has moved to CA from another state and has gotten a CA license. Did you have to take the written test at the DMV? or is it just like getting it renewed. I am currious because I have moved reciently from WA to Santa Cruz and havn't gotten my license yet.

I doubt you can skip the written test. After all, CA made me take the written test again after four years to make sure I didn't forget 10mph speed limit in rail intersection...

Yeah, still multiple choices. Most of the answers follow common sense, but there are always a couple that could be ambiguous. If I recall correctly, you are allowed to get three wrong (6 for brand new drivers), so it's all good.

I moved from mn to sacramento back in december. I asked an dmv employee about how many questions i could get wrong and she told me "6". It is 6 questions that you can get wrong for brand new drivers and drivers that have just moved to ca. I got 1 wrong. The test is common sense.
You have 30 days from the day you move into california to register your vehicle. Otherwise you pay a penalty fee.
