I don't know if anyone has heard of this but as I was paying my registration I saw that the DMV is offering legacy plates and will be made if enough people pre-order them, so far it looks like the black plate is the closest to getting enough pre-orders

I guess you need to fill out the form send $50 dollars by check and you can make it personalized too, but I believe that costs more and may not be available by the time there's enough pre-orders.

I have the black plates under my bed, I was planning to retire when I sold those. If these come out I am screwed!

 

You're definitely not "screwed". There are tons of collectors (of both cars and car memorabilia) that want original plates, regardless of whether new-issue "old" plates are available.

hmmmmm Good news for me!!

One of the plates has the last registered year of 1965


I should probably sell them instead of storing them under my desk. I would rather have them used and enjoyed.

 

I wonder if some guy had to go around asking for this to happen.

I kinda like the blue and yellow

 

While I'm not a huge fan of the Blue / Yellow combo, I do think those would look pretty decent on the WRB.
