buying tickets off CL
buying tickets off CL
Hey guys wanted some quick advice hope its not too trivial. I am thinking about buying tickets to the sharks/phoenix game next sat. Found a guy on CL and we agreed to use paypal. He said he would email me the tixs from his sharks account. Anyway to double check if he is legit? Or will paypal just cover me if he is not. Thanks!

that sounds pretty sketchy. When i buy tickets off CL i always get hard copies since its harder for them to make a copy of it and sell it to someone else. Digital copies mean, he can sell them, send it to multiple people and the ticket will check out as legit until the buyers all show up to the game. First person will get in..the rest are SOL at the door. LOL

Same.. I bought A's tickets off craigslist a few times and the have always met me at the bart station to give me either hard tickets, or their printed out tickets.. If your not being physically handed any tickets, I would pass..
Thats just me though.

I have season tickets for the sharks. We have the option to email tickets directly from our Sharks Account through TicketMaster.
You simply print the PDF and go.
In reality, if you don't trust the seller, getting the Hard Copies doesn't mean crap, as they can always email themselves the tickets which invalidate the Hard Copies anyways.
Most people with season tickets are just out to recoupe for games they can't attend. It's not worth getting busted for fraud over.

PS. I have the following games for sale:
March 19th VS Ducks
March 31st VS Stars

Yea thats something to consider, maybe then and If they turn out to be a scammer, they can at least enjoy the games they are trying to hustle w/o tickets in jail. And if they decide to jack you too.
I found my Sharks tix guy through CL...yeah I was super sketched the first time, but it worked out. He sends hard tix if the game is a ways out, otherwise he emails thru his Sharks account.

I've been buying sharks tickets on CL for a while now with both paypal and meeting up, and I only had one problem. Seller agreed to sell me the tickets and meet up to exchange cash. When I arrived at our meeting location, he texted me that he already sold it to another lady that offered him $10 more per ticket. No biggie because I didnt give him any money yet. Just wasted my time and gas.
Back to the paypal thing, I havent had any issue with Paypal. I just ask them to put all the information (date/seat number/etc) on a paypal invoice so if I do have any issues, I have written proof about the transaction
