Buying a new car for mom, suggestions?

Dads looking to buy a new car for my mom now that he doesn't need to use all the money he's saved up for college. (Decided to go with the one that gave me a full ride). So he's looking at a 3 series bmw, most likely not a 335 , a c class mercedes, the lexus is350, and the g37. Basically anything luxurious between 35-40 grand. I think my mom just wants comfort and style, pretty sure those hp and tq numbers don't matter to her. Any comments on suggestions on which would be the best? Or maybe other car suggestions?

Don't buy a new one, you can find 09s and a few 10s for much cheaper, meaning she can get an even nicer car for that price that is only a year or two old

The IS350, while nice looking, feels really cramped inside the car. Now that may be because I'm 6'1", but still feels like less room in the back seat of that car then when people sit inside my WRX.

Check out my BMW Rant thread and do some research on the engines from the 535i and 335I. I say just do some heavy research on what is and isn't reccommended. Consumer Reports, Edmunds, etc have all written a lot about what cars are good and bad.

If you can find a new MB C300 used of course, those cars are amazing for the money, had an 06 C230 Kompressor and loved it!

If you're going for a BMW, don't buy a new one. Get a lease return 330 or 335 or a nice C class.

If you're going new I'd go with the Infinity. Nice rides.

Wide not a legacy? The limited is pretty nice.

I just updated my thread with the new (old) problems.

Good luck on your search.

We are looking into what to get my mom next and I am pushing for a Lexus GS or Infiniti M.

I own a G37S 08 model and I really like it. I have racked up 50k in miles because of commuting and no mechanical issues so far with regular maintenance. She'll probably enjoy the 4 door version more so than the coupe if you are looking for room.

If it was my own car, I'd definitely look into both of these, but the mom has named her demands haha.
