burning dvds?? .avi files??

ok, so i have a dvd writer on my computer but i havent used it to burn any dvds yet. i was told that i need to use a software to convert the files and blah blah blah.

when i download videos, i see a mixture of files. mpg, mp4, mov, asx, and avi. i've downloaded .avi files before and i can't watch the videos using the windows media player. why? also, i noticed that most of the complete videos run on the .avi format.

so how does that all work?

if you already have the file, I think you just burn the .bin and .cue file. If they're just .avis you'll need a vid converter to get to SVCD and you need a dvd burning program.

i found it off google. just type in "dvd shrink" and you'll get a bunch of site to download off.

Worked great for me.
