the GI issue ones arent the nice fitted style, they come in standard sizes, s, m, l, etc, and are not class 2a, not even class 2 IIRC, someone here will know, Salty??

A lot of people that collect guns as a hobby also collect armor and other weapons such as swords for example. I think it's just a hobby thing.

The flak vests, ie no armour, do work, but not usually for a straight shot - especially copper or steel jackets, they prevent collateral damage.

We had a guy that was shot in Turkey while wearing a flak vest - two hits and he had broken skin and a bruise, but that's all it was. Drive by at the airport - was told after the fact that he was the first guy the drive by guys had ever hit at the airport.
