Damn I missed the "Free-Speach" statement...

While all the law abiding citizens are surfing this post, I was curious, whats are the laws regarding gross display of shotguns or rifles in the back window of BillyBob's F-150 (for example)? Could you get away with a gun rack in the back window of the sube?

I always wanted to put a samurai sword in the back window of my GC just to mock this stereo-type. Didn't know how 'legal' it would be... since technically it isn't "Concealed"...

Any idea's?

it's weird about kalifornia's concealed weapons laws...

for example, you can OPENLY have a firearm on you. like in a holster, in plain view. it must be UNLOADED, but that is legal.

because it's not concealed.

but be prepared to be stopped by the police constantly. after all, they are paranoid about those things...

if you really wanna up to date on these things, there is a good book called HOW TO OWN A GUN AND STAY OUT OF JAIL written by a calif lawyer. the title is something like that... lol...

i first picked it up when i got my first handgun.

every year, he updates it so that's the best part.

plus he doesnt have a lot of mumbo jumbo legal talk. all in plain english. you have to be a total dolt to not understand this...

costs like $10 and i got mine at TRADERS...

edit: linky to amazon for the book. older version, but call traders to see what the current year version they have:

Yeah open carry is perfectly legal. Like you said it has to be unloaded. Reminds me of these two brothers my friend told me about. They would both open carry and would hold onto each other's ammunition. It would drive the cops crazy, but there was nothing they could do about it since it was all perfectly legal.

GREAT BOOK! Anyone who lives in Cali and owns a gun, or plans to, should pick up a copy.
