I was 20 in 2000, so buying a pistol wasn't an option until I was 21, which presented a problem for me. However, I wasn't stupid so I bought magazines for my G21 and G17 as I knew those were two guns I was for sure going to buy... Same thing for my M1A... I was poor back then due to school and I couldn't afford an M1A ($1400) so I bought some magazines for it before the ban went into effect. I had my AR-15 pre-ban and I have about 20 hi-cap mags, and a drum for it, all pre-ban of course.
They really can't do anything about this, however some mags have numbers stamped on the inside and are almost impossible to to verify as pre ban unless you take the mag apart, and trust me, this is something the DOJ does.
folks need to know one thing:
anything you possess before JAN 1, 2000, is all the good stuff. legal (assuming you were okay in buying or possessing them in the first place) stuff that is like gold...
anything after that date, five gazillions laws went into effect and well, made life crappy for a law abiding citizen (until dec 2005... but that is another matter).
welcome to the PRK....

Carrying a handgun concealed within a vehicle is prohibited without a license. A handgun carried in a glove compartment or under the seat of a vehicle is considered to be concealed. A handgun placed in the trunk of an automobile, or locked in a container in the vehicle other than the utility or glove compartment or while in a locked container carried directly to or from a vehicle is deemed not to be "concealed." A locked container means a fully enclosed secure container locked by a key lock or similar locking device.

*I mean to me, I could care less that my pre-ban .40 cal mags have 3 extra rounds...if you cant get done what you need to with the first 10 YOU GOT ISSUES.
OH YEAH and another thing, its funny that we call them HIGH CAP, to the rest of the country they're normal capacity mags *but known as High Cap here in CA* (these low cap mags are specifically made for CA, so in my opinion we are a low cap state, where as everyone else is normal capacity)
