I would do the pre-order. However, since I purchased my phone last year, I don't believe i'm eligible for the pre-ordering of the phone. I will be at the nearest Verizon store first thing during that morning.

I find it funny when I see fat boys with an iPhone or iMac sitting in a Starbucks all day thinking that a girl will start a conversion with them because their Macs are so cool.

For those who have the Nexus One, were you a new customer to T-Mobile or already had T-Mobile? I don't qualify for an upgrade, but I know you can pay T-Mobile's early termination free and get the Nexus One for $179. Did anyone do that? I was looking it up and I found something saying they dropped the early termination fees if you do that. But wasn't sure if the Nexus One early termination fee was lowered or T-Mobile's early termination fee was lowered for getting the Nexus One.

Source:
Nexus One owners who decide to terminate their contracts early are in for a bit of luck, as Google has lowered certain fees associated with doing so, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Previously, customers who purchased the phone for $179 with a new 2-year wireless contract would be required to pay Google an "equipment recovery fee" of $350, while existing T-Mobile customers upgrading to the Nexus One were required to pay $250. These fees have been dropped to $150 and $50, respectively.

"We have been looking for ways to improve our customers' experience, so we were able to work with T-Mobile to find a better solution for our customers," Google said in a statement on Tuesday.

Customers will still be required to pay T-Mobile a separate termination fee of $200 as part of their wireless service agreement should they choose to end their contract after the 14-day grace period; after 120 days the fee is prorated.

Users looking to purchase a Nexus One unlocked without a contract may do so for $529, allowing them to use the phone on any wireless network that utilizes the GSM wireless standard.

Let's be real.. the iphone OS is still the sickest, and if you want the most "open source" "unrestricted" phone out there.. well nothing can beat a jailbroken iphone for that either. Just sayin.

But it takes a jailbreaking an iphone to get many of the fucntions andriod already gives you.

But rooting andriod seems to make it pretty much truly open.

Seriously? iphone is the most open source? If you think that's true, you know nothing of what is available for Android right now. Heck, my HTC Hero isn't even using a Hero ROM anymore.

Know the products before you start philosophizing about people bringing desktops to coffee shops.

For the record, I don't own any Macs, and I am definitely more a Google fanboy than an Apple.. but yes I own an iPhone becuz it's sexy and works great.

Maybe you guys can answer, since I do not own an Android phone. I know you can unlock them.. are there more indy "homebrew" apps available for android (rooted, unlocked whatever) versus a Jailbroken iphone?

Honestly, in terms of apps, I have no idea
