Might want to look away from that phone. Read a comparison with the Nexus One and HTC Desire and in the US you won't get 3G with the Desire. It also doesn't have the noise cancellation like the Nexus One has, think there were a few other differences too. If it had US 3G, I'd really lean towards the Desire cause it is a really nice phone.

You goddamn right it is!

I'm trading in my Eris for the Incredible at the end of the month!

I love my Eris - it's my first Android powered phone and I LOVE it. Only 2 things that are my least favorite is that it isn't as fast as I would like and the camera leaves a little to be desired.

Good thing the Incredible is going to be all that and more =D

I'm pretty happy with my Nexus One.
The soft keyboard sucks just as much as the soft keyboard on the iPhone.
But once you root the phone, it's definitely the better choice. I don't regret the switch at all. My GF had one but it didn't work with her corporate email and calendar **** (MS Exchange).
The turn by turn nav stuff works great. But GPS kills the battery, so it's worth having the car power adaptor.

+1 to that! Love the GPS turn-by-turn but it is a battery drainer for sure.

It's amazing how all the "iPhone killers" look and function just like the iPhone. Gagan, wait for OS4 to come out. Or just take it to the apple store and have them exchange for a new one. If it's something ****ed in the internls of the phone they do an even swap right there in the store. It happened to me. OS4 should make the iPhone the best smart phone out there...AGAIN.

new dolphin browser is AWESOME has option to turn off mobile versions and do all computer version, added pinch zoom and you can do gestures where you write shapes on the touch to do commands, like if I draw < it will go back > forward, B for bookmark etc.

Is the Nexus One's GPS not like the other Android based phones? With other phones, GPS only turns on when you're using a GPS app. So, if you're using google maps, then yes, GPS is on, but if your phone is sleeping, GPS should not be activated. At least, that's how it is with my Hero, and I haven't seen much of a change in terms of battery life with leaving GPS consistently left on.

While I don't classify Android as an "iPhone killer" it is competition to the iPhone. That's what a free market is. However, Apple doesn't agree and is being extremely petty with their retarded lawsuit against HTC. Both phones have their upsides and downsides, I personally love the infinite amount of customability for Android phones once you root them, but I also avoid Apple products like the plague. Unfortunately, this will be just like the Mac vs PC debate that will never end.

Update:

Gonna send the Nexus back, haven't even gotten it yet.

We have a family friend who can do 25% off Sprint plan, so that's $97.50/mo Unlimted Voice/Data/Messaging w/ 1500 minutes otherwise for 2 phones. Even with the $175 ETF, after we jailbreak and sell my 8gb 3g, and her 16gb 3GS, we'd have easily paid off that fee, and the phone cost. (we got the 3gs for free using Amex Points we racked up).

So I will be waiting for the HTC Evo release, and probably going with that phone. See what 4g WiMAX is all about.

Thanks for the update Gagan. I'll be keeping a close eye on this as my 2 years is almost up with my Tilt and I'll be looking at something non-Apple for my next phone. I've loved HTCs and will more than likely end up with another, the only thing that's up in the air is the OS.

too many f'in phones to choose from with no clear-cut winner. that said, I'm waiting for the HTC Incredible, too....maybe....the Droid will probably be cheaper by then too.
