Probably on performance enhancers that aren't illegal right now but will be sooner or later.....all these crazy suplements you can get now might as well be roids.

Yeah ruth did it while often being overweight and hung over. He was also one of the greatest pitchers of all time before he went pure hitter. On top of that he hit when there was honor in going one on one with a hitter. Pitchers didn't intentionally walk people like they do now. Pitchers weren't using steroids to recover quicker between games and throw 97mph fast ***** into the 8th inning.
Beyond that it's a well known fact that guys back in the day used other forms of performance enhancers...i.e. speed and horse steriods.
the fact that bonds used steroids for a couple years makes him no different than an HUGE percentage of hitters in todays game and yesterdays. Only difference is that Bonds had the ability before that. He won MVP awards long before the roids. 40/40 man. Etc. Steroids don't make you hit .370.....but speed sure as hell helps bad speed....i.e. good old mickey m.
bonds is one of the best ball players of all time playing the field and hitting the ball. Don't forget the like...9 gold gloves he has....

Ya know...Jason Giambi has actually admitted to taking steroids. He's hardly been given any crap by people nowadays. If Bonds owned up to it, would people give him the Giambi treatment? Somehow I doubt it.

True Bonds is an A$$HOLE to the fans, press, teammates (from what I only hear, not from any type of multiple day run ins), but that type of life does wear thin. He has been in that light since he was a youngster with his Father and his Godfather. I can't imagine being in that position, but im sure it got old really quickly. But back to the roid issue, as I say< It's only illegal if you get caught>. And Gary Sheffield played the steriod bust the best. All he said was, "I don't know what it was, but I took it. Whether or not it was steroids, I dont know." And that was the end of it. Nobody brought up Sheffield and steroids again.

babe ruth was a racist and he didnt play with any blacks since they werent allowed in the league yet. So why doesnt the media put an aterisk next to his name? I'm glad Barry will soon wipe his name from the record books. You tell me whats worse, being a racist or using steroids supposedly (at a time when the league wasnt even testing for it!!)
The media have a personal bias against bonds and they are trying to brainwash the fans into blindly beliving whatever they say. I've seen the shennigans and the double standard and the implicit racism the media is guilty of. I am not suprised of anything they do anymore.

being racist doesnt make you hit a ball further. racism is not cool, but whatever we are looking at what they are capable of. who the **** cares about their personal life.. (and yes bonds doing roids is his own personal life, but then again, its still having an affect on the distance of the ***** he hits...)

Personally, I'd like to see every team in major league baseball simply not pitch to him.
All they have to do is intentionally walk him. He'll get bored, frustrated, do something stupid, and get kicked out of baseball. That would be the end of it.

Barry DID say he took something that he didn't know what it was (like someone suggested he should have).
There is definatly unfair treatment towards the guy. Most of the hr hitters in the league did the same thing Barry did, but he's the scapegoat (because he's the best). Most of the top pitchers took steroids too. No spotlight for them. And if you're saying "Oh he's an *******", well so is MJ, so was Babe, so were a lot of the top atheletes in several sports. It doesn't affect that he's the best hitter in baseball, and was before he took steroids.
In a decade or two most of you s***takers will be telling your kids about how lucky you were to see Barry Bonds play. Hopefully you'll realize that sooner than later and go see him live.

I think if you forget about the steroids, they would still be booing Bonds because he is a ******** and he has always been that way. I dont have any hard feelings for him breaking the record, and i dont care about him using steroids because the last 10 years who WASNT using steroids in the MLB?? I even feel bad for him because sometimes fans act like he is the only player ever to use them. I hate Barry now the same reason i hated him 10 years ago cause hes a douchebag of a human being and thats way worse than sticking a needle in your buttcheeks.

See that's what I'm saying...people either hate him for roids (which everyone did, like several have pointed out). Or they hate him for being an ******* (which many many pro athletes are, especially in the upper ranks of any given sport). So basically, there's no good reason to hate Barry...except that you like riding band wagons or don't appreciate good baseball.
