Anybody in the city or east bay see them flying overhead? I saw two do a barrel roll!

i heard them fly by while i was in class about an hour ago

 

I was watching out my window, but I didn't see the barrel roll

 

fleet week this weekend should be entertaining with the red bull air race. I'm probably going on sat.

They were buzzing over SSF today.

 

i saw one fricken sweet ill be up there to watch on saturday and sunday

 

I was driving home on the Bay Bridge today and they scared the **** out of me!!

 

The sonic boom just shook all the windows in my building

 

Are you sure they're breaking the sound barrier in a metropolitan area? I've heard it broken a couple times in the service and in the sierra's and it does more than shake the windows... it rattles your brain and equilibrium as if you’re drunk.

 

they are no where near the speed of sound during rehearsal

 

Almost 10 years ago I was working on the 11th floor of a building in downtown Seattle providing technical support while the Blue Angels were "warming up". I was on the phone with some one when one of them flew between my building and another about a block away. I will never forget how stunned I was, completely blown away.

There are strict laws regarding planes breaking the sound barrier in the US, it can only be done in extremely unpopulated areas (or possibly very high altitudes). I heard one once when I was young camping in the Adirondacks in NY state.

 

no, im not sure. and they probably weren't. My step dad assured me. He was in the air force blah blah blah and stated the same stuff you guys said.

anyway, the show should be awesome. My work is right at Pier 39 and I've got parking. sweet

 

They fly way below the speed of sound in these shows. I've only heard one sonic boom in my life, and that was up in rural Idaho and high altitude.
