I was driving very spirited last night. I had the spedo needle arround the "0" ands well past the clock. Everything was going well untill I let off and slowed down for a little while, then I gave it another go but all I saw was a bunch of oil on the windshield and a huge BANG! And that was all she wrote. It was fun while it lasted. So now its time to put the STI motor in. Ive been meaning to do this for a while but I havent had the right amount of inspiration. I guess I have some now, lol. I'll post pictures of the car coated in oil when I go back to clean it up tonight.

damn. what mods and how many miles did you have? you might just want to get one of those JDM WRX long blocks from Gruppe-s, they're usually under 2K and you get better compression, cams, big port heads, and AVCS, just like on the JDM STI blocks. They are rated at 260 in Japan and are about half of what they sell JDM longblocks for but on 91 oct you can probably make the same power out of one with the right tuning, their a bit of a little known secret

They can also do CAMS, and head work quickly for a good price.
I will also add that I think Mike (the white Mike) is a super tuner and can get all that can be safely gotten out of the motor.
He has the secret sauce

Dev is also a genius with a wrench and if you want them to do the work they are a good place to go.
Good Luck.

A really hard deal to beat.

I have to agree. I blew my engine several months ago and upgraded to a JDM 2.5 longblock and have to say that I now drive a completely different car.
Gruppe-S' Mike, Dev, Dolmai, and Tommy totally hooked me up. My car is now a Gruppe-S car and I only entrust my car in their capable hands. I can't recommend them any higher. Top shelf.
Good luck in your decision making process.

WOW sounds like gruppe-s is the answer. All I got to do now is get a trailer and a really nice friend who doesnt mind pulling my sorry car up to Hayward! I cleaned it up today. CRAP THAT THING HOLDS A LOT OF OIL! I degreased the engine and under caraige and I was worried that the stream of oil going down the street might alarm someone to think there is ileagal oil dumping up the street. Last time I do that!
