The turbo lag on my 02 has bothered me since I bought it last month, but I figured "hey - that's just how these cars are"
After Auto-xing McDrama's 04 last Sunday (fun car BTW, we need to get you some Kumho 710's) I decided to bite the bullet and buy an Accessport.
Smart-service.com had one in stock (no one else did) and if all goes well I will have it before the Mt. Hammy meet.
The car is pretty much stock outside of suspension and a K&N filter. The more research I have done, the more it seems that one had to do ECM before really getting into anything else.
Hope its worth it

we are going to do an uppipe once he finds one.
unfortunetely tirerack does not carry v710s in 225/45/17 or 235/40/17. =\

The up-pipe is coming. I'm picky as hell about parts; comes from spending so many years in the business (8+ years at Speed Merchant and Corvette Clinic).
Knowing myself... I'll probably end up spending an obscene amount of money on the up-pipe, but the damn thing will fit right on the first shot and never leak. I'm liking the Random Technology unit right now; but the AP already blew the car budget for the next 2 months.
Seems like the EM was the right first step with relocated EGT sensors and such.
Matt
I do see a 710 in 215/40R16.... think of the gear ratio the smaller OD would give you. That's why that MR2 you saw runs on 13" wheels

Brett, another thing to remeber is that it is a japanese car. We wont need any shims to get your upipe to fit right.

Hey - those Chevy starter shims are for aerodynamic effect each one is worth 3 HP
The more I think about it the more I like the gutted stocker idea... I am honestly all about stealth on my daily drivers. I need to junkyarding and get one to gut.
The race car's 110db idle exhaust note give me all the flash I need.

You can't beat the fit of a gutted stocker or sti uppipe. The stock appearance is nice too. Whatever you do, don't get a catted Random tech. The whole point of the uppipe is to get that cat out of there and away from the turbo.
