Also, I highly recommend the factory oil filters and crush washers. I've seen auto parts stores selling/giving cheesy paper crush washers, and they are worthless.

hah wow so many replies oh yes i just made an apointment with stevens creek subaru for wed morning with service. might as well give it a try. at least ill probably get to figure out maybe where its coming from. if not covered with warrenty, then guess ill have to do 'it' myself or with a shop. btw my car engine/ecu is now stock. newb question-warranty wont be voided with my turbo timer, aftermarket boost gaugse on a-pillar, sway bar, or those minor non-engine mods would it? would it be a relly bad idea to have my undertray piece and u-frame piece off also? thankss guyss

You have been on the boards long enough to realize that they suck, you are just asking for trouble by going there.

1. You jacked up your car wrong so the jack slipped and fubared your oil pan (the oil container thingie)
2. You drove your car around with a fubared oil pan.
3. You are working on your car. (please step away from the vehicle)
4. You are now taking your car to the worst dealer in the world when you have many other dealers to pick from.
5. You are asking if obvious signs of messing with the subframe, and undertray piece will in some way void a warrenty on a oil-pan that is obvious that you fubared.
6. You are seeing if the dealer will fix something under warrenty that didn't fail because of build or manufactoring defect. (dented oil pans)
let's see... 1+2+3+4+5+6 = you're dumb!

1. i jacked up the car yes. yes it slipped and put a slight ding. i lowered it right away.
2. yes i drove around after that because i saw up close it was like a tiny ding and wouldnt think it would do anything (i dont even know for sure if the leak problem is the ding....)
3. i am working on the car? no im not..
4. i can either go to livermore or stevens cause they are the closest to me. i heard some negative feedback about the sales department, but havent seen anything about the service. i have been on the boards awhile but i almost never come on and read everything people post about random things. i have no time.
5. just incase it wasnt the pan dent that caused the leak, was just asking. i AM a newb ok.
6. as i said before. i Dont know if the cause was cause the pan being dinged. Could be something else.
ok im dumb so what.? thanks for your support =)

good luck to you if you take your car to livermore or stevens creek, those are the 2 most terrible dealerships in the bay area....if you go to carlsen you MAY have a slight chance but its still not likely

Chances are that you will NOT be covered under warranty for a dented oil pan....they don't just crack and the dealership does know that.

take it to santa cruz subaru. it's not much farther from fremont than livermore and their service department is awesome.
Anywhere but Stevens Creek.
They'll fill it up with oil and tell you it's fine and you'll end up seizing your motor because they didn't do jack.
