No, its not It has NONE of the characteristics of Northern California, such as being in the northern third of a 900+ mile long state. It also has a lot of things that are not characteristics of Northern California: PEOPLE, traffic, pollution, crime problems, etc.

Just consider yourself lucky you get the Bay Area tag and don't get lumped in with the Central Valley You know what? You can have that stupid ****ing "NorCal" term, the bumper stickers, and all of the bro trucks that go with it. It does not mean you live in Northern Cali.

Uh, what?

The bay area is the life blood of Northern CA... Sure, your version of Northern CA has some beautiful places, but the bay area has just about everything you do... and more. We have redwood forests, we have mountains, we have anything you could possibly want to do, we have amazing weather, we have plentiful jobs, we're central to everything and anything.

You have Sacramento.

Really dude? If you want to narrow down norcal to methhead redding then go ahead but sac ain't crime free or all that wonderful either. Just take a look at your local politicians and 115 degree summer heat. Sac sucks and its no more nor cal than s.f or navato.

Completely aside, but if California split into two states North and South, and the Bay Area was in the North, I think we would totally become seen as the superficial, spoiled, shallow "southern North Cali" that SoCal currently is to us

I'm a fan of WestCal (costal) and EastCal(valley) Theres a bigger divide culturally there than North vs. South ever has been.

Brotrucks?!?!?!?!?!?!? WAIT "bro" is mostly socal. Where I live trucks are not like that, more like all of us HATE brotrucks. THEY NEVER SEE MUDDDDDDD or a tow. If an asian can grow up to be whitewashed and not preppy and more hick. It's definitely not socal lol. But then again I am an exception.
