Beware of fake ROTAS!!!
In street driving the weight difference won't be noticed. My lightest wheels are 16 lbs and my heaviest are 24 lbs. There is no difference in gas mileage, braking, and only a small difference in how responsive it feels to input.

If you knew the history with Mackin Industries and the type of crap they've pulled over the years (fake forum accounts slandering Rota wheels, pushing people to post broken Rota wheel images on forums, etc.) then you would have a different take on them asking a dealer of theirs to post this story. I doubt they are concerned with this press release warning people to stay away from "Rota imitations".
I agree, Rota has nothing to be embarrassed about with the whole situation. The more people that know the better. In the US it really isn't a problem. The imitation Rota wheels are generally seen in Asian countries.
