Not that this means one will put down better times that the other, but:

STI A-Stock

350Z B-Stock

My good friend drives an..06 or 07 350Z, not sure which trim and I have 05 STi. We've gone from a roll and my car pulls harder and beats his. I'm sure from a dig my car will win also. As for Auto-x, we're pretty sure the 350z is a LOT slower. He and I drove my car one time at an Auto-x and got almost the same exact time, we were off by maybe .001 seconds. But whenever he drives his car and I drive mine at an event, I consistently beat him, and I believe it is because of the car. I think the STi just feels faster because when the boost kicks in you can really feel it, but for NA cars the power is more linear so you don't really sense going faster. You don't get that airplane take off feel, but the NA car is pulling pretty hard.

You asked wich one is faster on an autox course. The STI in stock form is one class about a stock 350Z (A Stock and B stock). The Z competes with RX-8s and the STI competes with Evos and S2Ks.

There is no full rear on an STi, you're just biasing the rear a bit more over the front (65/35 is the max bias I believe). The only AWD cars I knew where you could get all power to the rear was and none to the front was the Skyline.

Anyway, understeer is the nature of an AWD beast, you can tame it a bit better with suspension and chassis modifications though.

And its actually setting it to full open. The top notch is full lock.

I know there is no full rear, I just meant that full rear setting on the DCCD, which is more then 45/65 I believe, but close.

I used to have a 2005 350z before my STI so this is just my opinion. My Z was only the base model so I had no traction control FYI

1.) The STI will win hands down, the 0-60 times for STI's are much better. You just can't really launch a Z the way you can launch a STI.
2.) The Z does handle really well, but my old Z was real tail happy. I feel much more comfortable taking a corner faster in my STI but understeer is a *****. So the STI takes it for me again
3.) The brakes were about the same, STI would probably stop a bit better with the Brembos, but im sure if I had the Brembos on my Z it would be the same.
4.) This one goes to the STI AGAIN lol, just because my old Z didnt corner too well without it getting loose.

I do think the 350z is a great car, I always catch myself staring at one but its just not that practical for me. I love to snowboard and there is no way to take a Z up to the snow. One thing I did like about the Z though was I never really had to drive anywhere with friends as you can only sit one person in there. I find myself always driving people around now.
that is all

I don't have STI. But I own WRX (used to run vf43) and 2007 350z(vq35hr 306hp version). With vf43 set up, wrx felt much faster. I keep my Z as a cruiser. Not so much of racer. Neverthless, vq35hr is a good engine that can take twin turbos on stock internals without issues. To tell the truth, it's really hard to compare these two cars. Both are fun it's own ways.
