Best ways to get rid of a car?

1993 Maxima. Got it thinking I could make it into a usable beater, but it needs more than I'm willing to put into it. It runs well, but needs a new front windshield due to leak.

I've only had it for about 8 months, so I can't just recycle it for $1000 because they want to see 24months of it being registered in the county and NOT Non-op, which is what it was before I got it and got it running.

So I just want it gone really. I think I will just put it up for $1000 on craigslist and see what happens, but I doubt I will get much for it. It's got terrible paint, and that leak from the front.

Any suggestions? I can't do the fail SMOG thing either, since the same 24 months registration requirement is needed. I may just need to take whatever offer someone throws at me.

Any local bone yards that provide towing? That or a donation service that gives tax deduction.

Poke a fuel line and start it up

DONATE?

CL for $1k and take best offer is what I'd probably do realistically.

Man that sucks. The donation was the best way around it. Bone yard is gonna give you like $300 for it if you're lucky.

Toss it on CL and take what you can for it. $1000 cars that are reliable are hard to find and that one runs just fine.

side note... call me later on tonight if you get time.

+1 on Donate option! Many large/serious charity organizations will come pick up the car and you get to write off more than reasonable value on your return and probably way more than you can get in $$$ for the car.

Okay. I'll shop around. I'm sure I can use the write off.

I've never taken more than the standard deduction, but I'm sure that will change next year. #BecauseHouse

You'll be better off this one. No need to charge every 15 minutes.
Milwaukee batteries are horrible as well

The only one I got on my phone. Got new tires. Timing belt was done. Got it running. But had a chance of heart.

I'll contact some donation places tomorrow.
