Best Travel Deals?

Where do you guys look for the best travel deals? I want to plan a trip, somewhere tropical and hopefully within the next 6-9 months. Where do you all look for the best and cheapest deals?

I always look through Expedia,Orbitz, or Travelocity. Sometimes your airline of choice will have some good deals on vacation packages.

Have you tried looking through a travel agent? With you trying to plan so early the really good deals might not be around just yet.

I just booked my Brazil trip for the this coming summer and the travel agent was able to find some really good deals.

Peep Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. for package deals then compare with one another and with prices direct from the hotels or airlines. Open up lots of browser windows and start comparing.

I would avoid a travel agent unless you really dont know what/where you want to do/go.

I've used Suntrips.com for hawaii and mexico.. I think their rates were competitive even though you have to waste about an hour meeting with one of their reps when you get there. They try to sell you add on mini trips (ie: helecopter trips, diving trips etc).
