I never ate there because of the name, Sushi 85? lol i'll try it

If you like sushi boat service, Sono Sushi is downtown MV, cant tell you about the quality...since i'm not of asian descent, despite what i look like

Not sure if it matters to you guys but many of the sushi places in South Bay are not Japanese run/owned. Most if not all of them are Korean owned/ran and they may have never been to Japan before. A coworker of mine tells me that there is a Korean Sushi school down in LA and they apparently just give these "Sushi Chef certificates" to anybody who is willing to pay their school feels. I dunno about you guys but Korean/Chinese owned Japanese restaurants just irk me.

that is funny. i was in orange county last week and went to a sushi place. i sat at the sushi bar hoping to get the best. i was shocked to see carlos and jesus rolling suhi behind the counter. i have never seen that before. thought it was really funny.

Not sure how ol' the place is, I've only been there once, but I'll be goin' again this Wed. night for all you can eat sushi -- which is all made to order w/ the freshest array of seafood. They have all you can eat sushi during lunch and dinner. The name is a bit iffy, but I think it's for the different number of rolls they offer.

Anyways, the sushi chef, who I believe is also the owner is a pretty dope character. He hook'd it up w/ some Sake Bombs on the house, now that's hospitality!

The place is a bit hidden, due to construction, but right next door is a dance class, if jailbait is your kinda thing!

Downside to South Bay sushi/Japanese joints... no okonomiyaki! Well, at least to the best of my knowledge.
