Best small tablet?
I trust the i-club community more then google.com for some reason.
Looking to buy a smaller size tablet that is capable of monthly data subscription.
My main use would be..
surfing the internet
watching netflix
bringing to the gym to log my lifts and workouts
a lot of the time im going to be using this while working in an ambulance all over alameda county, mostly oakland so good service area is important.
Not looking to spend more then $400. memory capacity is not a major issue since i wont be using it to store music or pictures really.
not sure what the general consensus is on the new ipad mini

Best bang for your buck is looking into the Nexus 7 tablet.
229.99 you get the 16gb
For an extra 40 bucks you can get a 32gb one, which is priced at 269.99
You can get a mobile data plan with at&t or just buy a small wifi hotspot.

if you are seriously considering an iPad mini and don't need to get one ASAP, I would wait. The next gen ipad mini should be announced in the next month or so and will have a better display, fingerprint scanning technology, the same a7 64bit chip in the new iphone and slimmer all around dimensions.
If you are looking for great value and can't wait, the nexus 7 is your best bet.

I had an ipad2, moved to a galaxy tab 2 to try something new. Once that was stolen, I'm back to apple. Ipad mini. They all operate pretty similarly, only reason my vote is apple (which is saying a lot for an android phone faithful) is the internet... The keyboard was a little off, and trying to click links was very difficult. The ipad mini types like an iPhone, and links click perfectly...

interesting. i should also mention i still have an unlimited data package on my verizon mobile plan. i would love to use that as a hot spot and ive tried using foxfi but my phone is not compatible for that application.
lg spectrum 2.
i wonder if it would be better for me to just get a wifi tablet and change my phone to something that would work with foxfi to use my mobile device to provide data.
also i see verizon selling the galaxy tab 2 8gig model for $199 right now with 2 year contract. i get 20% off with my corporate discount. wondering if i should just bite the bullet for that. but then i would feel kind of silly paying $40 a month of 4gig of data on the tablet when i have unlimited data on my mobile device.
what would i club do?

I have used a Xoom 32gig for the last 3 years and it still works better than 90% of the other tablets out there. Its fast, it gets the most recent updates (thank you google for buying Motorola), and it can take up to a 64gig microSD card. I have it in a Bluetooth keyboard case, and that's all I need for a good 3/4 of my work/home life. I even use it to connect to the work servers and update/work on them.
