Yes Lambert, both of those schools suck. I went to Aptos and it sucked, my friend went to Denman and it sucked. Seriously.

Hey imminence, what year did you grad from Lowell? I'm 2001 There's a few of us Lowell survivors on the boards. Maybe we should all roll up to our "proud" alma mater one day and make donuts with our Imprezas on Eucalyptus in front of wide-eyed FOBs
Class of '95. Guess I'm an older guy. Tempted to do the donuts on Eucalyptus, but I'm afraid that tires are too expensive to waste on some FOBs. Then again, if you wanted to do donuts in front of FOBs, wouldn't you just go to Lincoln or something?

i dont really think what someone learns in middle school really matters. its the environment more than anything i think. if the school is ghetto the kid will just try to be "hard" for the test of their life. and if the school is filled with a bunch of rich kids he will grow up to be a little b*tch.

Here's an old thread "What High School Did Everyone Graduate From?" so that this middle school thread hopefully won't stray too far OT. Find BAIC classmates and other folks who attended your high school!

Sweet! You probably won't remember me though, because I was rarely ever in class.

If you want the best for your son, just make sure he gets into Lowell for high school (if you're still residing in SF). Junior high school was far less of an impact than high school.

That's true. And even then, I didn't think high school was that important. Getting into the right university... now that's important.

It also depends upon the individual student. Some will get the most out of any school they attend and excel wherever they go. Part of the problem with 'lesser' middle and high schools is that there is so much peer pressure to fit in and become part of a clique - it is a distraction that takes away from time that should be devoted to studying and learning.

I have friends that went to both Lowell and Washington Highs and all have done well. They are engineers (civil and electrical) and others have accounting degrees and work for Standard Oil (Chevron). Some graduated from SFSU and others from Cal Berkeley.

It's probably best to try to place a kid in the best environment possible for learning, IMO.

No that's the @$$-wipe dean Cordoba. He's a punk, he pisses me off. Other Ryan (WindingRoad) can vouch for me
Speaking of which, hey Ryan you suck for getting caught doing donuts haha. When Alex Yuan and I were doing it in his Z32 Fairlady Twin Turbo, nobody gave a monkey's @$$
And imminence, good point on wasting tires. Maybe those of us with big ol' aftermarket exhausts can set off the FOB's over-sensitvie car alarms on their Civics, Integs, and Corollas

That'd probably be a better idea. Is Stockwell (sp?) still patrolling the area, or did she finally retire?
