I'm thinking unless you're going to send him to a private school, that he'd need to go to the one closest to your place of residence.

No not necessarily that if it's a public school you have to go to the closest to where you live..because the one closest to us has a bad rap..and Low scores on the SAT9 test. I want my son to learn...not to hang around on the streets ...Which they learn if they go to schools that have low grades on special tests.Don't you agree with that??? I've found three public schools that have above average scores on the SAT9 tests A.P Gianinini,Presidio and Marina....

If that's the case, I vote for Presidio. That's where I went to middle school. Not sure about AP Gianinni, but back when I was in middle school, there were a lot of thugs there.

Just in case you were going to ask about high schools, my vote goes to Lowell because that's where I went too.

FAIS is an excellent school... (French American International School)... If you enroll your son and he stays there through high school, he has an excellent chance of earning his bacalauriate... (sp?)

I went to Lawton Alternative Middle school. The teachers are the best in the city. It's kinda small. but with all the benifits of a regular public school.

Roosevelt, Presidio, Marina, and AP Giannini (sp?) are pretty good for public middle schools. For private schools, most of the Catholic schools are pretty good, and West Portal Lutheran has a good rep.
Hey imminence, what year did you grad from Lowell? I'm 2001 There's a few of us Lowell survivors on the boards. Maybe we should all roll up to our "proud" alma mater one day and make donuts with our Imprezas on Eucalyptus in front of wide-eyed FOBs

hey lambert! i went to lawton alternative. its a good school. the teachers have huge sticks up their ***** so i guess thats a good thing. dont take me as an example of their product. trust me they are a good school. out of my entire eighth grade class (sixty some students, its a very small school) i can say less than 10% dropped out of highschool. and its very close to where i live too. if you're late to pick up your kids you can send them to my house.

stay away from ap...they have stabbings and muggings. its not a good school compared to lawton.

ryan, i got into some trouble for making donuts on eucalyptus

i heard that west portal lutheran has a high percentage of students going into lowell

lawton alternative is hard to get into, make sure you fill out your OER early. when i went into lawton about 13 years ago, there was a 2 year waiting list.
