Bent wheel - fix it or replace it?

so i bent my wheel, its a 17x7.5 rota torque, i bent it on a curband chipped a little part off..

question is should i repair it? where to go, how much is it? is it worth it - is the repaired wheel as good as a new one?

i got quoted about $160 for a replacement wheel from wheeldude, so im thinkin about goin that route unless repairing the wheel would cost less...

Thanks in advance

It's a Rota, just buy a new one. That's the beauty of getting PDM wheels. At least you'll have your car up and rolling real quick.

+1

Fixing it would probably cost more than the wheel is worth.

I was quoted $620 to repair my set of rotas, granted that's $620 for all four wheels. For one it would be about $150. I got these quotes from Wheel Techniques and they are located in Milpitas.

Since it is a Rota that is still in production, it might just be best to get a new one. The only reason I am getting mine repaired is because the Rotas that I have are discontinued.

well then, i guess the next question is who wants a 17x7.5 rota torque with a dent in it? still holds air and has a 225/45 dunlop star spec on it...good for a rolling spare?

I've heard about wheel repair for years but never really considered using it. I broke down and had a wheel repaired recently since I couldn't find a replacement. I was impressed with how well it turned out.

I highly recommend this shop. They are just north of SJ Airport.

My friend recently got a Volk wheel repaired at Wheel techniques, cost was $150.. you would be better off just replacing the wheel at that price.

Yeah, Wheel Techniques does very nice work, but you pay for it
My advice would be this: unless your wheel is in the $250+ price range or out of production- (they might not charge quite that much but considering down time and hassles getting there and back, dismounting and re-mounting etc.) it's probably wiser to pony up and buy a new one.

I'm also in the market soon for a wheel repair. I was going to go to Wheel Techniques but after some more research, I think I'm going to try Rolling Stock since they're local.
