BBQ By The Beach - May 24

WHAT: BBQ by the Beach. Food, Cars, and any other fun we can think of.

WHO: So far... Aya, gavin-5, DareDevil, porkchop, OwlBoogie, mmboost

WHEN: May 24, 2003, Memorial Day Weekend. Lunch or Dinner, TBD

WHERE: Baker Beach, Presidio, San Francisco

This if for all of us to have fun... but what they heck... I'd prefer to have an evening BBQ, not too late though. Feel free to organize convoys and other drives around the area. HWY 1 is always fun. I'm sure we could have excursions. I figure mostly we'll just sit around and have some brew on the beach, play some sports in the sand, throw rocks at the naked people sunning themselves at the other end of the beach (the naked part is true, the rock throwing is a joke), and just enjoy what will hopefully be one of those rare, sunny, warm days in San Francisco which seem to land in May. (Wow, that was a long sentence).

Also, it would be nice to have a contest or raffle. I've been trying to get a shop to sponser having a raffle (which is really at no cost to them) but since they are all in the East Bay,at least one so far is too lazy to lug its sorry *** out here. A shop participating would not have to pay for food or really sponsor anything. Its just advertisement at the expense of us having fun. People who show up pay a couple of bucks, and the pool turns into a gift certificate... its like those old party fishing boats except that you dont have to catch the biggest fish. Uh yeah. As you can see, any other ideas would be very helpful

So, pick your choices from above and we'll shape May 24th into a day that'll be fun and work for everyone.

Your Gracious Host,

jason

You're not the only one who's responded that way. I don't get it. In the early WRX release days it wasn't this way. I guess the thrill's gone. And yet, many west-bay guys drive east all the time for get togethers, KK meets and trips to the shops.

You guys can meet at your reservoir in Lafayette... we're going to the beach!

As for BBQ, I'm interested, but I have to see if I'm going to be in town that day. Please keep me posted! It'll be nice to see you all again (or meet you for the first time).

Oh, and is Baker Beach such a good idea? It's kinda..... dirty there... in a used condoms and syringes kinda way... at least the last time I was there. Just a thought -- any ideas?

Its a matter of where you go. The BBQ pits are far away from that section. The nudity portion of the beach is waaay down at the very end near the bridge.

I had a BBQ with some Supra guys there last year and we were fine. Of course, most of the Supra guys are gay
