the bay bridge sucks
Studio 8 is alright. There is tons of places in the city to go. Check out north beach or Marina. Dragon bar was pretty cool when I went there.
As for the traffic leaving the city it took me 1 hour to get to sf state from marina after the air show ><

Roe is tight in SF, there are also tons of other places that kick every night no matter what
Most of the North beach joints (dragon bar, Dulche, Velvet lounge)
Free Joints to get into -Gravity in the marina (always packed), Bubble Lounge (packed, 2 levels).
Crash is nice as well in SF. Element lounge is cool as well, but varries depending on the DL.
Then there are the big clubs, but they are all really hit or miss depending on who promotes. They can be very uni-racial too depending on the promoter. (NV, suite 181, Ruby sky, Loft 11, etc)
For the south bay, there is F&As in PA (also blue chalk and some others), theres a decent one in downtown mountain view on casto (forgot the name), and also Mt. Charleys in los gatos is decent too. Im sure most south city folks know about Blush in burlingame

In downtown mountain view there is two places that are good, molly mcgee's and buddha lounge both are pretty cool, very chill compared to PA / SJ / SF. Definatly a fan of Buddha, course I live like 2 blocks from there.

i think the secret for the bay bridge is use the local streets that no one uses to get to the onramp at the end. when i'm going home late at night, i always see the main couple streets all clogged up, but yet these other streets have no traffic.

no dis to the east bay folks, but i hate going out there. i'd seriously rather drive to san jose than berkeley or oakland. a few of my friends have nice pads out in san ramon, danville, lafayette, & moraga, but that's even further out in the boonies, so i hardly go by.
and i didn't realize baic was such a hip crowd. my friends (actually, theirs) own a few of the spots you guys mentioned/go to.
