This sounds like a really good time. Will the gravel and dirt start to screw up your cars exterior? Would it be better to do this with a car that is dedicated for this type of driving or will my 2004 WRX thats in better excellent condition be able to do it while not getting to many scratches and chips in it?

I guess it depends on what "too many scratches" means to you.
In my case since I fully expect to drive my car until it falls apart- I don't care, but not everyone is willing to have their side skirts held on with gaffers tape...

If you want to see a car that does this regularly and is a daily driver swing by AutoHQ in Redwood City. They have an STi there that just got protuned and you can see what kind of wear and tear rally-x can put your car through.
