If the truck you're thinking of is gray and goes to the Fremont school, I know him. His name is Mike.

They do dealer training for current BMW techs there too, it's pretty cool. Anyway....

I dunno, some rep from Wyotech Fremont came to my hs autoshop and was telling us about how cool it is to go there, cuz they get to work on BMW prototypes and all that stuff...

Yeah, you have to get invited into the Step program. You have to have nearly perfect attendance, and be on honor roll, then they invite you to take a test. If you pass the test, then you get interviewed, and THEN you get to work on the BMW's. It's tough, but worthwhile. You're guaranteed a job if you complete the program, so it's pretty cool. I don't think you can do it at the Laramie school though because I knew a guy who went to the Wyoming Wyotech and he attended the BMW Step course at the Fremont school.

The laramie campus gets the most car companies to come to it because it is the original they were saying that they had about 70 recruiters from all over the world there that just want their students and the other wyotechs get about half of that. This is the Main/Original wyotech campus...

I love the cold and the snow especially.. Right now im on the Proxys 4's I read good things about them.

I went to the Fremont Wyotech, and am now it the STEP program at UTI in Arizona. In all honesty, UTI blows Wyo (at least the fremont one) out of the water. The campus is less than a year old and is huge. Sure you get out what you put in, but having a clean professional campus with good equipment/instructors helps. If I could do it again I would have gone to UTI. Good luck in Laramie, one of the guys in my BMW class went there, he said its a boring little town.

From what they were telling us at orientation most companies dealerships, tune shops, and any other car shop in the middle come to our campus more than any of the other wyotechs

Firestone and um...Discount Tire? Something like that. And a Honda dealership came somewhat recently, but they were so swamped with students trying to get in for interviews for 2 or 3 open positions that I didn't even bother.

And about UTI being better...it's all relative. I went to another automotive school in Colorado that I thought was great at the time, but the second I set foot on the Wyotech campus, I realized how wrong I was. Wyotech is 5000 times better than the school I went to in Colorado and I've learned so much there that I really can't complain. Maybe UTI is nicer and newer and better equipped, but you can only learn so much from schooling, there comes a point where you really need to work in a shop and gain experience. Experience is the most valuable education you can get, school is just a place to start.
