Please check out my EIPracing tuned 400+ whp 04 STI that I just posted with the same title under the Ongoing Projects thread.
Some parts are up for sale for cheap also.
Let me know what you think. I'm sure to meet some of you out on skyline or highway 9 sometime.
Later folks!

No drag strip for me yet. I'm pretty happy imagining what quarter mile times I could run.
Actually, I've almost never launched the car from a dead stop before--just seems like a bad idea for the drivetrain, even when a guy or two has tried to punk me with their quarter mile claims.
There are plenty of people with very similar STIs who have done the whole quarter mile ET time for me. I'm content to guess based on their times.
I'm sure the car can handle it, but I wouldn't want to make a habit of it, and I think that getting a real time number would disappoint me and motivate me to build the car more, no matter what the time was. I'm hoping to stay content with the car for a while just driving the hills.

downsti, this car should do in the mid to high 11 s range at best given the current tune and on 91 octane with methanol injection.
Many full weight STIs with similar output numbers have done mid 11s. So that's my guess.
But my estimate is just an educated guess. People who frequent the strip often want to see a time slip.

The only possible trouble you would have are with the axles. If you had low tire pressure and super grippy tires, thats the only time to worry (and even then you will probably be fine). If you put on some all seasons and/or put your tire pressure high, you will just spin the tires, which will be fine.
The STi can take the abuse (it aint a wrx drivetrain!)...but I can understand your concern.

I'm wondering who else has 350+ whp Subies in the bay. If you do, let us know. Well, everyone else probably already knows: so let me know. Thanks!
High 11's is probably conservative, even with the car not even setup for drag. Nice ride.
I think alot of people have 350+ hp subies around. Go to a meet, an autox or a drag race

no 400whp for me but i have 11s and prolly could run 11.5, BIG maybe 11.4 hahaah
yea well peak dyno numbers doenst eqaul 1/4 or trapspeed
it comes down how good your PowerBand is not peak dyno numbers
you can have 500whp @ 7000rpm redline at 7200rpm and on your dyno sheet @ 600rpm your at 300whp hahaha it obivious people will automatically think that the person with highes WHP is faster
