If BART is the countries best mass transit, well, our country has a sad, SAD mass transit system... which we already knew, but we didnt know it was THAT bad...

Its amazing how much better Europe is in that regard... Makes out country look like its stuck in the early 1900's. BART is the best... AHHAHAHHA, my god, that be soooo god damn sad that I can't stop laughing.

It does come in handy sometimes, but even still, its no where NEAR perfect
You should check out Hong Kong's subway system... I was really impressed by it.

Ive taken BART to work for the past four years or so. Its cool but I have had lots of ****ty times - 30+ minute wait times, trains with broken AC, trains so packed that they pass up the station, etc..

That said, its really nice to have. Not sitting in traffic is great.

I dont understand why prices havent come down.

I use to take Caltrain to SF...but now with gas it's cheaper to drive even pay $7 for all day parking.

Caltrain used to be $4.25 MV to SF now its $5.75 (raised when gas went up) and it hasnt dropped yet.

I drive one day a week to work because I actually enjoy traffic with a help of cigarettes and alike. with shortcuts its not too bad and my commute is 9am which isn't so bad. I did drive almost everyday but when gas hit over 4, I rode bart more often and 16 dollars a day for parking adds up.

main reason for bart is sleeping

though you usually always have to wake up 30 minutes earlier if you take public trans.

Friends have told me the MTR system is freakin' amazing and light years ahead of BART. I used BART a lot when I went to art school. I was more annoyed with the lack of parking at certain times rather than the actual commute. I was only ridiculously late a handful of times during that 4 1/2 year span I rode it. I commuted for work on it every now and then when I used to get design gigs out in the city. Not bad at all.

I dunno, I just know where I am because I've ridden it so many times. I've seen almost every station. So I don't worry about signs too much. Actually, I think I've stopped at almost every station on the BART map, except El Sobrante, El Cerrito, and the Richmond stops.

Just cause you got ****ed once or twice doesn't mean it sucks.
have you even been to San Diego? their transit system is pretty damn good too.

the BART cars are pretty outdated compared to some of the newer designs out there, but not bad.

I believe BART is the best public transit system in the country.
You would be wrong to say it's the best in the country. In California, yea, but not the country. The East Coast transit system is way better than BART can ever hope to be. I used to live out there and take the system when I started high school going from Northeast Philadelphia to Center City for the school. Bus to the El to the Subway. Extremely easy to figure out and you always knew where you were.

I'm sure any asian transit system will put BART to shame.

BART to me, isn't that bad. I'd prefer it over MUNI, or the metro system in LA. Although, since I use it whenever I go to SF, and try to avoid rush hour, I'm not sure how good it feels when people are pushing into you the whole time.

The only thing that I've been annoyed with, is the fact that they're building a stoneridge BART station, when there's a station one more freeway exit away!

I can tell you exactly why they are putting that there. BART needs the money. Some developer wanted that station there cause they are building condo's right there and they wanted to have a station that could be reached just by walking outside as an allure to buying a condo there. This developer is paying all the costs to have it built.
