Baron opts out
Baron opts out
Baron opts out leaving 17.8M on the table. The Warriors have until midnight tonight to use that 10M trade exception, which does not count against the cap.
Let's see what Mully will do.

Davis is an idiot. The team is just getting good and he is THE man. Not to many other teams out there that are gonna pay him the scratch to be THE man that are this close to competing. They were building a team around him.
This is the problem with professional sports now. Too much money. No one cares about the fans or the team anymore. Its all about the team. You got maybe 5% that give a **** about anything but themselves.
**** Baron.
Problem is... with this crap he's pulling. Even if he does stay he just lost some fans. I say they trade his *** to the worst team they can find for draft picks. Develop some players this year and go nuts next year. Lots of talent to develop if they can stop loosing it.
Loosing arenas and richardson ticked me off.

Here's a good article about why he might have chosen to opt out and receive a lower salary:

3rd, there's a strong possibility that even though Elton Brand opted out as well, they could both be playing for the Clippers (Davis and Brand), which would leave Maggette to be unsigned.
4th, Warriors made a big offer (about as much as the Wiazards did) for free agent Gilbert Arenas, but Arenas will probably stay with Washington since he likes it there.

The part that pisses me off is that even last week he said he would not opt out. Had the Warriors known that he would opt out, I'd bet they would have drafted differently.
