BAM Tickets available...

http://www.bayareameet.com/
Get your tickets at this URL - Pay in advance and SAVE!!
Pre-order tickets close at midnight on August 1st, so we can transfer the monies and have food available at the event.

BAM XI will be held on Sunday, August 7th 2011 between 11 a.m. and 3p.m. at the Area 51 Event Center (aka Rock Wall Winery) at 2301 Monarch Street, located in the Alameda Naval Air Station. As this event center is a bonded winery, dogs will not be allowed on the premises. We have rented the hangar area, as well as access to the area in front of the hangar for a great view of the SF skyline and a wonderful place to hold the annual car show. This event is a fundraiser for the Red Cross Japan Relief Fund, and all profits will go to that effort.

The menu is going to feature tri-tip and ribs, with a vegetarian option of Amy's Lasagna, cooked in its own pan on the grille. As BBQ deserves to be served with beer, and this event center has its beer and wine license, both beer and wine will be sold on premises. Half of the revenue raised by the beer and wine sales will be given to i-club to donate to the Red Cross fund.

In addition to the annual car show, we're working on obtaining the services of DJ Fresh to provide the music and MC duties, and are going to have a few other surprises in store. Be ready to have someone giving specific parking instructions, because there's a very good chance we'll be getting an aerial shot of the parking lot full of cars.

The ticket price:

Adults: $15/advance and $20/door
Children 12 and under: $10/advance and $15/door

T-shirts are available for pre-order $16.95 + tax - cutoff date of July 16th in order to ensure delivery by the BAM date.

We will be opening the doors at 11:00 a.m. for admission. We will be starting the parking at 10:30, as we will be trying to get an aerial shot of the cars. I have a photographer who's been nominated to climb the 80 ft. ladder to the top of the hangar - and before anyone else asks, NO is the answer to allowing access to more than this one photographer.

Lunch should start serving (for the vendors) at 12:15, and the admission tickets will be traded for a plate for the general admission holders at 12:30.

Throughout the event, raffle tickets will be sold, with the drawing occurring at 2:00 p.m. Tickets will be $2/ea. or 3 for $5.

The car show will be held throughout, with the judging being done by a guest journalist who's graciously accepted the challenge. Don't worry, there'll be a "people's favorite" category...

Vendors, you'll be receiving a packet in the mail in the next two weeks with everything except the t-shirts...and instructions on arrival, parking, setting up, etc.

As of this post, no one has entered any t-shirt designs to be voted on. I'm guessing that unless that changes in the next 24 hours, I'll be hiring a designer to create something.

Since no one takes this seriously (see the "official design submission thread" for more details), we'll simply hire someone who adds to the cost...

No... the vote thread will probably be up today or tomorrow I'm guessing.

My question... $16.95 plus tax? WTF? Are you gonna have a credit card machine/cash register there? Why not just say $18?

Are you doing sweatshirts? Those always go over well. I have 3 of them myself... at least.

If they're purchased with the tickets via online pre-pay it's not really an issue; shirts bought at the event will be $20 even (including tax).
