I was actually a c*nt hair away from saying "f*ck it" because there had been no updates even after multiple requests. If this had not been posted by the end of this week, I would have made other plans.

Sucks that I won't be seeing you at BAM though, Yuri.

I am all for having "seat of the pants" fun, but forgive me for expecting basic professionalism and common courtesy for volunteers who want to make this event possible, many of who would need to be there couple hours before and after hand.

Anyway, I will refrain from saying anything more as I do not want to thread jack.
I kind of get the same thing, but I plan on showing up the day of ready to cook and clean. I dont know what anyone else would need to tell me to do... even if I was a parking attendant. Im sure there will be more on the day of.

However, please remove my name from the list. I will no longer be able to help as I have made other commitments for that weekend. I do not know how other members feel, but considering the absolute lack of consistent communication regarding this part of the event and general ignorance by the organizer of all the people and their good intentions to assist just could not be ignored by me. I was not going to take a chance blocking off whatever little free weekend time I get and foregoing other plans in hopes that this particular commitment would pant out.

That being said, I hope the event has a good turn out and good luck to everyone else.

YAY! I should do this more often, a great way to weed out the whiners!

The meet is totally unpredictable and things happen that I can't account for, which is why we have a core staff of people that oversee the meet though the whole day and find help as needed. Our method has worked every single year in the past, and I told you guys I'd update you as the meet drew near when I got things finalized.

Keep in mind that I also have a life, work, school, marriage, family, and for the last week surgery recovery. There are many things I need before I can tell people exactly what to do, like gathering numbers of how many people will be there, how much food we need (which dictates how many cooks, how much ice, who needs to bring it, etc). I can't tell you guys 2 months in advance because I just don't know. I wanted to knock this out a few days ago to give people 2 weeks notice, but I wasn't exactly in the best shape to start counting money, people, projecting and predicting how things will go due to being medicated from the surgery I just had. Now that the meet is closer and I have things finalized (including the shirts which were such a PITA to do), we can give a proper update.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was some employee of some micromanaged company. I've done it this way 8 years in a row, and it works every time, and each year I learn more.

I can't always reply to PMs even though I try to. I usually look at this message board when Im at work, so sometimes I get side tracked/busy and forget to reply, and then I forget all together, and keep in mind I get about 10 PMs a day, a few emails, and countless threads to reply to, so its hard to balance everything together all at once, so sorry if you didn't get an update every week, but I tried to get everyone up to day with everything, and if you read all the threads and replies I have posted you would have been updated. People don't tend to read the long threads in their entirety and I get asked the same questions like 40x over. I've probably updated you and you just don't know.

Back to work

PS: Manhands for the win!

PPS: All people helping get in for free.

Lets also keep this thread on track to the people who are actually helping and not people complaining. PM me if you want to complain, this thread is not for thread jacking.

You're def not complaining. Don't worry, we'll have vegetarian options if you were in fact being serious. There's quite a few of you guys.

Also, the raffle tix are purely for the animal charity, so if I give raffle tickets away we'll be taking money away from homeless cats and dogs.

Look, I hadn't heard much about it till now either. I was feeling down to the wire pressure, let's forget what was and concentrate on what is now. If you have concerns about organization of volunteer work don't hesitate to ask me, I am more than confident that even with the amount of unforeseeable things on the horizon that if I can get you guys to commit to help I will be able to effectively utilize you

If you want to help and be part of raising money for the Tri-City shelter and Furry Friends Animal Rescue then JUMP ON IN! I'm ****ing excited.

Edit: Seriously Two Pages and no new volunteers?? EHHHH?

I'm bringing three ice chests of crushed ice (five if I can find more ice chests) and I will help with set up or parking. Point me in a direction.

Quick OT, but damn, you deserve a serious "handie" from Paul (seeing as how he signed up for the handie giving position) if you're seriously showing up early enough to help with setup, and you're driving from humboldt the morning of. I feel like I have the flu every single time I try waking up at 6am or earlier.

If being there early is a problem I'll just set you up for Parking assistance since you can get there later, but if you're ok with early I'll just set you up as Setup since if we can never have too much setup help.

Edit: Wow if you are coming from Humboldt I might be able to offer you accommodation the night before if it would ease your journey.
