Question Ball park price for tinting 5 windows on Impreza?

Anyone have a ball park range for me? I'm waiting for a reply from Krinkov as to their location and a price.

I want to do mirror tint with the average darkness (legal).

Thanks in advance.

I paid like 280 for 5 on my wifes jetta.
Don't go too dark on the front, but I believe limo is legal on the back 3.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks. Yeah, don't plan on going very dark in the front. Seems like more and more people are getting popped on that these days. Then cost another load of $$ to down grade.

I'm hoping whoever I end up going to knows what's legal in the front. When we got pulled over in my friends ride in Jackson, the cop said no tint at all. That was after my friend had already gotten his crap lightened.

TintWerks is the one in Pleasanton? Is that the same as Omega TintWerks?

I paid 150 for the back 3 and the windshield visor strip at omega tintwerks in Pleasanton. Vincent will give you the i-club discount. Search for omega and you will find all the info you ever wanted on tinting!

Go to Vince. You'll probably pay about $175. Tops.

I have 3 window tinted by someone else now because things got damaged and I couldn't get out to Vince. Vince does THE best job of tinting I've ever seen. And his prices for iclub folks are outstanding. Plus he kicks *** and you can watch drift videos or play PS2 while he does it.

+1 - I have had 4 cars tinted in the Bay Area so far, the 2 done by Vince @ Omega Tintwerks were by far the best and least expensive (not a bad combo). He did my WRX sedan (5 windows, rear + rear doors 20% front doors 35%) for $170 and '03 Civic EX Coupe for $160 (everything but the windshield 20%).

I was one of the people popped for front tinted windows. So be aware.

Also STi's better watch out(I think 04's and later have the antenna in the rear window?) as the rear window contains the radio antenna. You may need a different kind of tint material not to lose some(or most) of your radio reception).

There was a discussion about it either here or the Nabisco.

I know one thing I am never going to tint my front windows again.

Regards

Nick

Hey, I just found the CA. laws on Llumar's website (tint that Omega supposedly uses) and it says 70% for the front windows. Is that incorrect?

70% would be like a UV protection tint and would look almost clear.

llumar is the best tint.

I have it on my car. I have had ZERO problems with reception and my antenna is in the back window.

You run front window tint at your own risk. 70% is the law if I am not mistaken. That's very very light.

I run 35% on mine and I haven not a had a single problem in 6 years of having the tint. Some get popped the first week they do it.

But hey...the way I look at it...it's a $10 ticket and will cost you about $70 to redo. I like having it...its worth an $100 risk....figure if I only get popped once every couple years who cares. Just like I run with no front plates. Got nailed once in 6 years.

The big issue is....what other things can you get tagged for. If your running catless with a huge amounts of non road legal mods then maybe you don't want to run front window tint..but my car is legal otherwise so screw it.

So yes....70% is legal. 50% is very safe. 35% is pushing it but I've had no problems. 20% good luck. 5% hope you don't get shot.

Great insight! thanks man. I shouldn't have to worry much. My Impreza OBS is straight stock and has a space case on top so I probably look pretty old fougie. Maybe I'll shoot for 50%. Don't plan on doing anything illegal with my car b/c it's my daily driver/snow transporation. More worried about my K5 with no mudflaps on 37s and 3/4 ton axles.

some tints have a metallic thingee in them.

hence the radio signal degradation. same thing if you paint you XM or sirius antenna to match the color of your car. i know XM says not to use paint with metallic flakes.
