BAIC: Who has "Photochromic" glasses?

My situation: I need to get some prescription glasses for when my blood sugar spikes and makes my vision blurry for 24-48 hours. The problem is that I dont want to carry around my sunglasses, Rx glasses, and Rx sunglasses.

My question: To those that have the "Photochromic" lenses (the ones that lighten and darken depending on the light) do they get dark enough to be effect sunglasses? Or would you rather use prescription sunglasses?

MGIA (muchos gracias in advance)

I now have both regular prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses.
laaaame, I don't want three pairs of glasses floating around, I have a hard enough time keeping track of 1!

the ones i mentioned earlier are called Driveware that does not work with UV (it works with actual light) but they dont really get super dark like sunglasses. they are pretty much the same as transitions except that they never go totally clear, they will always have a slight amber tint to them.

thats all i know, hope i was able to help a little bit.

alright, thanks for the input guys. When I get the Rx filled I'll be sure to ask if the Transitions lenses they have will work properly in the car. That wasn't a problem I had even thought about.

Transitions will make you look like a child molester... they are usually put in regular glasses frames, and whenever you walk inside a building they will still be dark.

I have transition lenses in my glasses. I don't wear them that often, I'm a contact lens person.

They do NOT get dark in the car.
They lighten up in a couple of minutes depending on the temperature inside.
They get plenty dark outside.
They seem completely clear indoors.

My solution was to buy those 'over glasses' sunglasses from Walgreen's etc. They have ones that will fit around your sunglasses. They look pretty dorky though, so I just wear contacts
