God damn Gibz, every time I hear about your ordeal it gives me gooosebumps... What you went through, no innocent human should ever have to face, EVER. Sucks that you didn't even get money out of the whole ordeal because the bastard filed for bankruptcy... You mentioned this to me a long time ago, but I don't know the specifics. Of course he came out ok and unharmed compared to you.

F'ing drunk drivers can go eat zyklon-B crystal chips.

Yeah its hard but i try to make it through each day. I have to say this is the hardest thing to deal with in my whole life and people that know me know what kind of life i have had.. I cant ever plan ahead cus each day is different so i miss out on a lot cus some days i cant even move or the pain is just way to much to deal with. I have anger towards the asshat but i try not to so much anymore cus that is just more on my shoulders and this is the cards that life had dealt to mean so i just have to remember this is my life now and not look at what kind of life i had before. That honestly was the hardest to get through.. I had many things i loved to go do before like walk on the beaches etc.. but in my new life that just wont happen as i cant walk on the sand and i cant use my wheelchair on the sand. So before i keep on going on lol basically i tell everyone love what you have today cus you might not have it tomorrow..

You're really an inspiration how you can be so strong through such a load of **** that you're having to deal with because of a decision someone else made. **** drunk drivers.

My Mom was hit by a drunk driver 5 years ago now, it was Sunday morning at 10am and a woman in an old Explorer plowed into my mom at 70 in a 45 while my mom was stuck behind a line of cars at a stoplight. Her arm was on the steering wheel and apparently her bones were so strong and flexible that instead of breaking (which would've left her ok) it basically caused her chest to collapse into itself, cutting off the blood flow to her arm. She basically lives every day in pain and unable to use her right arm, the only possible relief she could have would be to remove her top two ribs and doctors say that it could just leave her with more pain. She can't do anything for any period of time, can't sit very long and can't stand very long.

I'm sharing this not because I feel it's in any of the same realm as what you have experienced but it's another case of a Drunk driver making a decision that altered the life of someone else. I wish you all the best and hope that you can find some treatments that will provide some relief.

Aww i am sorry to hear about your mom as well Innocent people get hit by these people and they always survive with usually little to no injuries I feel what your mom is going through i go through a lot of the same things and yeah i am like her in a way cus they cant fix my back cus of the way it was crushed it will paralyze me so i am trying to keep what little i do have for as long as i can. I am sure she had internal injuries as well as i did. I still to this day have liver and kindey issues and my shoulder is busted in 3 spots and healed wrong. They cant do surgeries on me cus my kidneys and liver wont allow me to live being put under so only surgeries they will do on me is if its life threatening and at that not so much. They now stated all surgeries i have from this point on it has to be done awake and just use a local to numb me. So yeah i have life long injuries and these asshats get sent to jail and no injuries to remind them of their **** up. The guy who his me was 26 years of age and was his 3 dui so yeah he never learned. though he filed bankruptsy on me i did get 40 years in a federal prison and he gets no early parol. I feel it wasnt enough but at least for 40 years he cant do this to anyone else. I do wish your mother well and i feel for her fully. We are the innocent and we have to pay for life. I am lucky to be alive and my husband alive and so thankful he didnt get hurt so one of us is still ok. Again best wishes to your mom and god bless!!

I'm glad to hear they put his *** away, oddly enough the person who hit my mom was also 26 year old on her second offense, she ended up getting off with probation but didn't own anything and had nothing to her name. They didn't consider my Mom's injuries in the court case. My mom figured that all trying to get money out of her would do is insure noone would ever marry her because she'd have a ridiculous judgement against her.

I pushed on my injuries and he also got the 3 strikes your out . then they charged him a federal offence for each person he harmed or could have harmed which was 4 people. got a federal charge for every injurie that he left me and more for the life long injuries. and more I can't think of right now. the sad part is this guy did have money but when he was transferred to the federal pen he gave his millions that he did have away to family and then filed bankrupsy on me. the money would have helped to pay for my 100K medical bills and fix some of the injuries but in the end the money wouldn't have changed anything.. They DO need to change some laws on drunk drivers I believe to prevent some more people from doing it. When they get just a slap on the wrists some tend to do it over and over.
The main thing that sticks in my head that morning is his girlfriend.. mind you when I was rushed to stanford hospital they put the drunk and myself into the same trauma room. His girlfriend shows up and I can hear her telling chp on the other side of my curtain how she knew this was going to happen 'some day'. I go WTF she responds with he drives drunk all day every day and I warned him this was gonna happen. I just couldn't believe it. If my bf or husband drove drunk every day all day I would turn his *** in myself to save another persons life.. I was floored. and all the drunk could repeat was I was only going 25 after a point I yelled bull****, then why the **** am I laying over here??

and krinkov you are so very right. The very reason I try so hard to do good and not have bad karma on myself. though it may seem otherwise cus of what happened but it could have been worse. I try to think of it in ways of I am worse than some but better than others.

Like I get asked all the time why don't you have a handicap parking permit (some joke of riding with me so I can use it for parking) I reply when the day come I find I need one I will get one. I can wheel from other parking spots and leave it open to someone who might be worse off. its just the way I think..

speaking of all this stuff everyone be careful out there each and every day watch out for times like this weekend cus its a holiday weekend. People tend to party it up more so on longer weekends as well. Just be safe and keep your eyes open cus situations like mine and others happen out of no where so fast. To that have a wonderful 3 day weekend and remember to get a designated driver or take a cab!! Cab cost are so cheap compaired to a dui or someones life.

Almost 7 am and I still haven't slept. My drunk *** friend showed up at my house (yea, showed up, aka DROVE) and then kept me up all need because I had to watch him. He actually tried to take a **** in the corner of my bathroom, and I had to be like dude, the toilet is RIGHT HERE!

And I have to be somewhere at 9. FML
