I mean, at least get a Tesla or Honda San Bruno (Natural Gas)! Something that uses NO gasoline! I stayed in 2nd gear down El Camino just to cancel out his smug cloud.

I wonder if the gentleman/woman knows how the vechicle is manufactured. Surely if they did they'd understand that any emissions saving was offset during the manufacturing process. More than likely just during the mining and transportation of the metals used in the battery.

I find it funny that these people who buy hybrids think they are doing no harm to our planet. True they put out less harmful emissions but what happens when you need to replace those batteries? Hmmm last time I checked batteries are considered hazardous.

Also electric vehicles, where do people think that elecricity comes from when they need to recharge their car?

Top Gear did a test on a Tesla. Funny what Clarksons says about it

Watch from 4:16 on

Replacing them is actually less harmful than making them.

Fair enough, but... consider that the metal for the batteries is mined in Canada, shipped by a fossil fuel consuming ocean freighter to Asia, assembled and then RE-SHIPPED back to the US. Yeah... good luck covering that carbon footprint.

I really hope Subaru will release a turbo diesel. Maybe if we create a huge effort and spam SoA with recommendations to release one in the U.S.

I love the guy's license plate. SO HUM... like humble?
