Does anyone here know anything about Physician Assistant (PA)?
To me it sounds like the "doctor's sidekick"
Outpatient care centers $80,960
General medical and surgical hospitals $76,710
Offices of physicians $74,160
Considering I wont have to spend 4years in med school, 2 years residency,X amount of years paying off debt.
This route seems to make sense right? Except after say 6-10 years the doctor will be making like 4x my salary lol.
Anyone know any info about this route? I've been to hospitals before, but never noticed or knew anything about PA's.

^ correct me if i'm wrong, but it's pretty hard to find PA jobs, because they're not THAT in demand.
also, it's a technical school/vocational degree kinda thing.
If that's what you want to do, it's all good. techs/assistants make decent money.

Hey guys, I'm graduated from HS in 2007 and I'm currently in a community college trying to transfer to a UC. For the past year, and this fall semester, I've been trying to follow the Bio/Pre-med major and its been ****ing rough. I never took any AP's, never took Calc, never took Physics, and sucked in Chem. I know its good to have big dreams and have high goals, but I honestly think I'm setting myself up for failure. I just don't think I have what it takes go to through all the pre-reqs(ochem!), MCATS, med school, etc. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.
I've been here since '04 so I'm no random noob, and I ask for your help guys. What would you do if you were in my situation? Stick with it and keep working or choose a different major? If I choose another major which major would you guys suggest? After reading the countless "Lay offs" threads recently, it made me realize if I choose a new major, it has to make economical sense. (money)
My future depends on this decision I make. Please leave any info or tips you've learned in college. I appreciate it guys.
TIA

My wife is in the process of becoming a nurse. She's a nationally certified MA right now. Has I think 4 or 5 more prerecs then apply for nursing program. Right now Cabrillo is nearing a 3 year wait and I think SJS is around a year. I think she's going to do labor and delivery.
Sup Matt, I moved down cause SMC is the best jc in cali. Its definitely harder than say De Anza. I'm not struggling in school, I have A's in all my other classes, its just Chem thats tough, and its because thats the class that I want to major in, its giving me so much grief. But yeah, I'm glad I moved down, and I think things have turned out better than I expected. Its not the trouble with schooling, its just the direction I want to go with in my schooling. Thanks for your concern though. I'll be back in the bay this Thanksgiving, so I'll hit you up. =)
also going into JC first will save you a lot of money (tuition-wise). i shoulda done that, but I didn't get any good money decision advices when I started college

I'm 30 and trying to make up for lost time. I only have something like 31 credits. I just dropped below a 4.0 because I had a douche for a teacher in one of my comp classes.
