BAIC I need your advice (issues with suspension and Les Schwab)

Got my H&R springs from Les Schwab last year around Nov. I had around 12k on the car IIRC. I now have 33k. I had the springs installed and my car aligned.

About 4k after the springs were installed I got clunk on the rear struts. The toor them apart and reassembled them and I was good to go, for another 4-5k. Each time Les Scwab was nice about the repair (they would take the struts out and reassemble them). This sucked as I was either on road trips or just did not have the time for this but they would "fix" it each time so I would go away happy.

Well after 4 times it happened again, go figure. I was down in Sac for the Holidays and took it to the Les Scwab on Northgate in Sac. This time they tell me my rear struts are dead and I need new strut mounts. I was like WTF! How are my rear struts "gone" and my strut mounts bad? How the hell do you fawk up strut mounts. Are they fawked up because the struts kept coming loose do to no locktite? I just don't get how the mounts are bad.

So now I am thinking I go in and talk to the manager and get him to replace these parts? I feel I am do, this is a new car. They installed the parts, and they kept having to repair it. Or do I say screw it and bite the bullet and just try to get some coilovers?

Man I hate Les Schwab

The clunk is just a natural effect of having STi struts. I learned to live with it. I am willing to bet if you took a poll of people on iclub with STi struts, the majority of them (that have decent milage) would report the clunk. This really has nothing to do with les schwab, and everything to do with your struts. Personally I'd use it as an excuse to get coilovers, thats what I'm planning to do.

yeah but can you feel your clunk? Mine is a poping sound like the strut is coming loose, which it is and that is why when they tighen them they do not clunk. I think this is more than the common STi strut clunk.

Mine is loud and I can feel it. The right rear strut has been that way for a while, and now the other side is getting it too. I have had LIC check on things and they told me not to worry. Its noisy and annoying but otherwise harmless. Just the nature of the beast.

Coilovers can't be too much stiffer than these H&R springs? I have the agressive ones that lower it like 1.5". Any one have experience with H&R Coilovers, I was looking at a set for about a grand. I am happy with the springs, they may be too bumpy for some on long trips but I love how it bites in the corners.

I thought H&R to be superior german suspension? All the reviews I read where good. Hmm. Weird, this is the first comment I have heard like this.
