intricate tricky stuff is musical VIRTUOSO not genius
however many of the geniuses are also virtuosos (victor wooten, jaco pastorius, shawn lane, john coltrane, etc etc)

Its a toss up between #1 and #3 for me.
eh, pitch wont help you in percussion so much, and as for playing an instrument well.....you can parrot something to a T, but I feel genius comes from the creative aspect of music, not just the recital aspect.
