I am down for it, in fact I will lay down a chalange here and now...
Myself, Vs Horsecut54, full pads (head, fists, kneels, elbows, feet) WKA rules, 3 rounds, in a ring, WKA trained ref, no backyard crap. I will give him a month before the date of the fight to get in shape, and I am sure I can get some spare safety equipment if he can't afford his own.
*edit* fair warning, its been 3 years since I was in the ring, so im a bit out of shape, but I won't pull hits, WKA rules are not for points like normal karate competitions, its for KO/TKO, or judge decision after 3 rounds.

We are talking about the "World Karate Association", right?

I mean, "light to moderate contact," "no leg attacks", "no shin contact"?

OR
Are you referring to the "World Kickboxing Association"? If so, that's a little better (although no elbows, knees, or leg kicks have always made Choku Dori a sad panda).

P.S. What you refer to as "Normal Karate" should actually be classified as "Sport Karate" and is only most common in Western countries; in Japan, "Knockdown Karate" and "Full Contact Karate" are considered "normal". Don't believe me? Check out the way the Japan Karate Association karateka fight. Hard contact shotokan is niiiiiice:

Just adopt the PRIDE FC rules circa 2002. No pads or 16oz gloves. Participants will use MMA gloves, mouth guard and cup. That's it. Keep **** simple.
I'm glad you're being proactive about this, but aren't the WKA rules kinda, well, lame?

Look I know its not "full contact" but we are talking about a grudge match. At 240 pounds and 5'10, if I went full contact with 80% of the people on BAIC, I would KILL them...not in the figurative term of it. I am not looking to hurt someone bad, just teach a snot nosed kid a lesson in the ring, that is it.
Now, if he wants to go full contact, I am all for that, but he best sign a waver first that he wont sue me for damages to his body.
You realise a single sweep to the knee at a side angle, could give someone a limp for the rest of their life. There is a reason why we are talking about full pads, no one here wants to hurt someones else for good. I know I certanly do not want to be responsible for someones injury or death.
Yeah, You've Probably Never Heard Of Me.
