I say if you want to fight, go to a gym and fight. The backyard/basement stuff will always be a huge liability. What happens when someone gets hurt bad and the ambulance and cops show up? And when that someone is now permanently injured and decides to sue. Whomp whomp whomp.

And I've seen 'willing parties' suddenly change their tune after a busted orbital or neck injury.

Wow... I doubt any of the above would happen.... with 16 oz gloves and no real background in fighting.... its a slim chance anyone is going to do serious damage to anyone.... keyword (doubt) Unless you match up a giant vs pedro or something. I think it would be fun... 5'7 150 lbs.... trained mma for 8 months.

there is a fight club in santa clara correct? as long as everyone comes in knowing what they're getting into, maybe sign a waiver at the door, everything SHOULD be all gravy.

Doesn't matter, all it takes is a wrong twist or bad fall.

The EB Rats do something like this at their clubhouse.

In Boulder, CO, they had fight nights every couple of months. They even had a girls fight night! It was at a pretty large venue and tickets were like $10. Anyone could come and fight and they had signups at the front and near the ring. It was super fun!!!

I am down for it, in fact I will lay down a chalange here and now...

Myself, Vs Horsecut54, full pads (head, fists, kneels, elbows, feet) WKA rules, 3 rounds, in a ring, WKA trained ref, no backyard crap. I will give him a month before the date of the fight to get in shape, and I am sure I can get some spare safety equipment if he can't afford his own.

*edit* fair warning, its been 3 years since I was in the ring, so im a bit out of shape, but I won't pull hits, WKA rules are not for points like normal karate competitions, its for KO/TKO, or judge decision after 3 rounds.
