I guess it would take 18 shots to hit anything with that gun...

PS: That SoCal bike cop rig is awesome! Those bike cops (with the new helmets with eye visors) look way more scary than the old Harley cops!

BTW - I just checked the numbers - the H&K is a P7M13... rare version

The Luger I've refused to keep; too much of an heirloom. Told them I'd keep it in the safe but won't take ownership.
That is beyond cool of you Bret. Seriously, big respect for that. I'm glad about the P7 (as you already know) as well as those crazy revolvers!

Sorry about your friend though,

I missed this comment the first time through, but I have to say that I disagree with the mag being an issue at all since it's a shotgun. You will never use a shotgun in a prone position where the mag interference is significant. You can still lay down with a 32 round drum, just like you can with an AR-15 with a 90-100 round drum (I know from experience on both ends of the spectrum).

A great alternative to the AA-12 is the Saiga 12, which is basically an AK-47 converted into 12 gauge. Semi and fully auto, super reliable (like an AK!) and $200. Sure, it might not have the cool factor but it's still a kick *** shotgun that you can get SUPER CHEAP. In CA you are limited to the 10 round mags (I believe), but I've fired the Saiga shotgun prone with a drum mag and had no problems what so ever. It was the same relative size as the AA-12 mag config.

Here's more info if anyone is interested:

Let me present to you, the Saiga 12, made in the same factory as the original AK to boot. It comes in various calibers like .223 and .308 (and of course 7.62x39). Cheap to make, cheap to shoot, easy to maintain, and will last forever. I'm surprised there aren't more people jumping on these things as alternatives to the Mossberg 500 and Remington 870 models, not that there is anything wrong with those shotguns, the Saiga is just a Semi-automatic version that costs $200. Last time I was at Irvington Arms in Fremont they had one for like $200ish.

(it's a 12 gauge AK-47, what more could you want!? And for $200 last I checked! Here it is in different configs)

Krinkov will like this one:

And if you're wondering how it works, here's a cutaway... Just like the regular AK, along with the loose tolerances and simplicity/reliability!

Damn, I really wish I lived in another state right now... I'd get multiple versions and spend $1k for the shotguns and modify each one to do something specific along with an "all arounder". All for the price of ONE high priced shotgun (See Benelli M4, which is what our military spec ops use... Only holds 7 rounds max and is tube fed, which means it's inferior to the Saiga which is more reliable and a fraction of the price. My experiences with the Benelli M4 is that it's a great shotgun... You get big time bragging rights, sort of like owning a Ferrari and knowing that some kid in his $5k Subaru can still beat you in just about every category and still be cheaper and more reliable) Besides, could a 12G AK-47 shooting a drum mag full of those high explosive rounds be ANY cooler? The rate of fire is ridiculous on the fully auto version. I'd go through a minimum of 10 shells in like a second or two. It's crazy.

It's been a year or two since I last looked at them, if they are still $200 I want to go pick one up tomorrow! I dont know why I keep putting it off... More = Better.

I <3 low maint shotguns and rifles (and pistols of course). I have had my Mossberg 500 for at least 10 years and I have never even wiped it down, that's how good it works... it's seen just about every kind of shot out there and I used to destroy poison oak plants with birdshot (Our shooting spot in the National Forest in Placerville... it gets overgrown with Poison oak which is why I use the shotgun to remove any unwanted plants. I think I might have a video of me destroying about 100 shells worth of poison oak. One shot sends the whole damn thing flying backwards for a good 5-10 feet, lol. Problem solved!

PS: The Kalf version of the above does NOT have a pistol grip like the one in the pics... Stupid CA laws. Instead it just looks like an ordinary magazine-fed rifle... Sort of like a magazine fed Mossberg or something...

Fail!? How? Just cuz it doesn't have a pistol grip? How much does it cost now? Last time I looked they were actually in the range of $200-220.
